Together with our partners at EDF and UCSB, Rare is already making strides towards promoting widespread sustainable fishing practices in five countries.

Position Overview
We are looking to hire two (2) Fisheries Program Implementation Managers (PPM) whom will manage multiple conservation projects as well as provide one-on-one mentoring and technical support to local conservation leaders enrolled in the Rare Pride Leadership Program. He/she will also work closely with the Brazil Program Director, Regional Training Director and Training Associate to develop strategic documents and ideas to advance the program, with special attention to the social marketing and barrier removal strategies and activities. He/she will also coordinate these efforts with the Director, Global Program’s.

Essential Functions
•Provide long distance support and mentoring to Fish Forever Campaign Managers in the implementation of programs in the field, and assist Campaign Managers in overcoming barriers to implementation, including relationship management, technical skill gaps, and time management.
•Campaign finance responsibilities which include control and monitor project scope, time, cost, quality and risk.
•Participate in the creation, design, and cultural translation revisions of customized curriculum, tools and training resources to meet specific goals of Rare and field campaigns.
•Teach the curriculum, communicate assignments, and grade coursework.
•Apply knowledge of Social Marketing and Barrier Removal to support the development and implementation of the cohort strategy.
•Advise on the development of common materials for all the field campaigns, including potential cluster and/or national campaigns.
•40% travel, primarily in Brazil but some to the US.

Required Experience and Education
•A minimum of 5-7 years of program management experience working in marine/biodiversity conservation, communications, or social marketing sectors.
•Previous experience in successfully applying social marketing and/or behavior change interventions is essential.
•Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from concept to completion.
•Proven ability to teach, train, and coach adult learners.
•The ability to thrive in team environments with a strong understanding of diversity and sensitivity to other cultures, and built relationships over long distances.
•Experienced in using MS Office suite, databases, graphics and savvy learning multimedia software.
•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree highly preferred.
