Director, Programs (Sustainable Agriculture)
Program Management | Beijing, China
The Director, Programs is responsible for management of a group of 10-12 two-year partnerships with NGOs and the Government throughout China implementing campaigns focus on Sustainable Agriculture conservation in and around a selection of protected areas and key watersheds in China. S/he will build, manage, and oversee successful conservation campaigns at 10-12 sites across the region that focus on working to strengthen sustainable agriculture practices.
We are seeking a Director with excellent team and partner management skills, a deep commitment to community-based conservation of biodiversity, with a proactive, consultative and results oriented approach. The ideal candidate has bilingual skills in Chinese and English and the following qualifications.

At least ten years management and team leadership experience in sustainable agriculture conversation initiatives with proven success managing projects involving multiple stakeholders, partnerships and contracts;
Proactive, consultative and results oriented in building partnerships and strategic alliances that resulted in a quantifiable outcome with demonstrated success strategically moving an organization’s mission forward while simultaneously striving to improve that organization’s business model;
Experience supervising and inspiring staff while working in a multi-cultural setting to achieve the expected conservation results;
A background in budget management in which you are responsible for daily decisions related to expenses and for preparing and presenting financial reports in a timely manner;
Ability to implement fundraising tasks and targets as agreed including negotiations with local partners to secure their contributions to campaign funding;
Excellent public speaking abilities and strong writing skills;
Willingness to travel internationally and locally (20%-40%) based on needs of the position, often in uncomfortable circumstances and work extended hours when necessary; and
A Master’s degree in conservation, agriculture or a related field; PhD a plus.
