Opportunity Description:

Due to expanding operations and increased workload, there is a requirement for an Intermediate/Senior Fisheries Biologist in our Calgary, Alberta office.

As an Intermediate/Senior Fisheries Biologist, the candidate’s responsibilities will include:

Initiating and managing projects;
Supervising, training and mentoring junior and intermediate staff;
Demonstrating a commitment to team building;
Liaising with clients and developing business;
Making presentations and representing clients at meetings;
Preparing proposals and reports;
Directing the application of advanced methods/techniques to problem solving and assessments;
Performing advanced data and statistical analysis;
Leading fish and fish habitat evaluations for various types of developments including power, mines, oil and gas facilities and pipelines; and
Developing fish habitat no net loss strategies/habitat compensation plans and preparing fish and fish habitat environmental impact assessments.

The successful candidate will posses:

Excellent technical writing, communication and project management skills;
Qualifications to register for a professional biologist designation;
A minimum of Bachelor of Science degree plus 10 years experience or Masters of Science degree or Ph.D. plus 4 years experience;
Commitment to Health and Safety.
