NYU Shanghai invites qualified applicants to apply for an open rank position to be located in the Environmental Studies Program at NYU Shanghai, to begin September 1, 2015. We seek scholars with a rigorous theoretical and empirical approach to environmental studies. We are especially interested in candidates with environment-focused expertise in policy, governance, and environmental affairs. Candidates with a Ph.D. in environmental studies or relevant discipline are invited to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and contribute broadly to environmental studies. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. by September 2015, have a research program that demonstrates the potential to be a leader in the field of Environmental Studies, and have proven the ability to be an excellent teacher. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to affiliate with other NYU departments, including the NYU Department of Environmental Studies on Washington Square, and the Wagner School at NYU. The terms of employment in NYU Shanghai are comparable to U.S. institutions in terms of research start-up funds and compensation, and include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Applications are invited by November 15, 2014 to begin as early as July 2015, and will be reviewed until the position is filled.
