Development Director- Belice


The Southern Environmental Association's mission as a Belizean non-governmental organization is to continuously work towards improving stewardship and the environmental integrity of key marine areas in southern Belize through effective, collaborative protected areas management, community involvement, and strategic partnerships for the benefit of all stakeholders. SEA serves village communities that line the coast of southern Belize and co-manages two important marine protected areas in Southern Belize: Gladden Spit and Silk Cayes Marine Reserve and the Laughing Bird Caye National Park, and works closely with the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve. Both Laughing Bird Caye National Park and Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve form a part of the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System declared by UNESCO in 1996 as a world heritage site. Terms of Reference/Responsibilities
Responsible to coordinate funding of the organization; securing donations through grant project submissions, business development and other funding source; assists with fundraising activities; works with other staff to ensure proper project development, implementation and reporting; is a member of the management team.

Duration
Minimum of six months, up to a year. Renewal can be considered.

Volunteer Personal Expenses
There are no program fees charged for this experience, but the volunteer is expected to arrange and pay for:
- Transportation to Placencia Village, Belize, including airfare.
- Food, personal expenses, in-country travel, housing/rent
- Passport, visa, volunteer permit
- Personal health coverage
