Marine Conservation Research Programme- Cambodia

Join our research team and contribute to meaningful, career-making conservation research on a beautiful tropical island in Cambodia.

Volunteers take part in PADI dive training, our unique coral reef ecology lecture course, research survey dives and career development workshops, while supporting our community programmes and experiencing life in the beautiful fishing village of Prek Svay.

All activities, including dive training, science training, career development support, survey diving, island transport, food, wifi and accommodation are included in programme costs. See our website (www.songsaafoundation.org) for more details.

Once survey trained, volunteers will collect vital coral reef and seagrass data around the Koh Rong archipelago in SW Cambodia. Data collected directly contributes to the development and management of Cambodia's first marine protected area (known here as a Marine Fisheries Management Area), through our partnership with Fauna & Flora International and the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Fisheries Administration. As the only organisation currently collecting this marine survey data, each volunteer's involvement in the project will promote the preservation of one of the most pristine marine environments in the region.
