An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced ecological modeller to join RSPB’s growing marine research team, to contribute to the analysis of the RSPB’s seabird tracking dataset. The post-holder will be responsible for developing models to examine seabird foraging behaviour in relation of oceanographic features, to identify important marine areas for seabirds. As part of a team of scientists collectively working on a range of marine conservation issues, the post-holder will also be expected to contribute expertise to a number of other projects. Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in ecology or statistics, have considerable experience in spatial modelling and an interest in marine conservation. They must also have a strong track-record of scientific publication, and an ability to communicate project results in a variety of formats to a wide range of audiences, including non-scientists.
