China: Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden

The Center for Integrative Conservation at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Yunnan, invites applications from prospective graduate students, post-docs and full-time faculty (at the Assistant and Associate Professor level) in Conservation Biology. This Center is a new group led by Richard Corlett and is currently recruiting new staff at all levels. XTBG has excellent research facilities and is located in one of the biologically richest and most threatened regions of Asia. It is part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), through which these appointments will be made. Please visit the Garden's website at http://en.xtbg.ac.cn/ for more information about XTBG.

Qualified candidates with experience in the science and practice of biological conservation, and interest in research in any plant-related area of conservation biology are encouraged to apply. Relevant research interests include, but are not limited to: habitat fragmentation, impacts of climate change, ecosystem services, conservation biogeography, protected area management, ex situ conservation, ecological restoration, reintroduction, assisted migration, and conservation education. The research focus should be on plants or plant-animal interactions. The successful candidates will benefit from CAS's established research programs and field stations. XTBG also has strong cooperative relationships with the local and provincial governments and with surrounding countries.
