Research Assistant

The role

The successful applicant will undertake research under the supervision of the group leader, and help co-ordinate the laboratory activities. The role will support projects to investigate new ideas about how secretion can affect the progression of diseased like cystic fibrosis and type 2 diabetes.

The person

Applicant must have an Honours degree in the area of biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, cell biology or similar discipline. Applicants should also have a familiarity with cell biology and molecular biology techniques, as well as proven experience with fluorescent/confocal microscopy. Applicant must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Experience at the University of Queensland would be an advantage.

Remuneration

This is a Fixed Term, 12 month appointment at HEW Level 4. The remuneration package will be in the range $51,508 - $54,868 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $60,264 - $54,195 p.a.).
