Prescott College Kino Bay Center for Cultural and Ecological Studies
seeks internship applicants to assist in an ongoing study on shrimp
trawler bycatch. The Center is located in the Midriff Island region of
the Gulf of California, Kino Bay, Sonora, Mexico. Since 2003, the Center
has conducted onboard research to assess the quantity of bycatch as
well as the species composition, and to collect information about
species of special concern associated with the fishery. The successful
applicant will work as part of a team carrying out the project in the
fall of 2014 and assist in onboard data collection, data entry, and
analysis. Training will be provided in the beginning of the season.
