Zoox was born to create better opportunities and clearer pathways for passionate individuals who want to fast track their career in marine conservation, while simultaneously supporting high-impact conservation projects.
We are looking for passionate and focused conservationists to coordinate the high-impact UNEP initiative, Green Fins, in the the following locations:
Nha Trang, Vietnam: 29 Sept- 30 Nov 2014
Malapascua, Philippines: 29 Sept- 30 Nov 2014
Moalboal, Philippines: 5 Jan - 8 Mar 2014
Koh Kood, Thailand: 5 Jan - 8 Mar 2014
You will be joining the 9-week Zoox Experience Programme designed to give you the opportunity to develop a wide-ranging knowledge and skill set to further your career in marine conservation.
Through coordinating the Green Fins project, and with a professional development module running throughout the length of the programme, you will get the opportunity to develop the following knowledge and skills:
- Project and Financial Management
- Project Planning and Monitoring
- Environmental Consultation
- International Development
- Diving and Snorkelling Skills
- Report Writing
- Understanding of International Environmental Policy Processes
- Negotiation
- Database Management
- Understanding of Global Marine Conservation Funding
- Training Skills
- Presenting to Diverse Audiences in a Variety of Locations
- Developing Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Knowledge of Conservation in Developing Nations Political Systems
- Travel and Personal Security
You will also receive specialist training in:
- Marine Conservation
- Marine Biology and Ecology
- Marine Monitoring Methods
- The Marine / Sustainable Tourism Sector
- Intergovernmental Departments
- Transboundary Environmental Problems
- Scuba Diving and the Environment
Applicants will be experienced divers (50+ logged dives) with a strong drive for a career in conservation.
