Description: 4 technicians are needed for a shorebird banding and
monitoring project in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, from mid-August to
mid-December. Job details include mist netting and banding Semipalmated
Sandpipers with a uniquely coded flag and resighting them with spotting
scopes. Furthermore, technicians will help conduct weekly invertebrate
and shorebird surveys, and help monitor water levels in salt flat
systems. Housing and transportation will be provided.
Qualifications: Basic knowledge of shorebirds, some banding experience, a
positive attitude, the willingness to learn, and deal with heat and
communal living situations are necessary. This is a unique opportunity
