Volunteer field assistant needed for the Summer 2014 at La Selva
Biological Research Station in Costa Rica.
The research project will
focus on sexual selection of the strawberry poison frog, Oophaga
pumilio, and will be part of my M.S. thesis research at John Carroll
University. Both field and laboratory work will be required.
The
laboratory aspect will involve behavioral experiments, in which a female
choice is assessed.
The field aspect will involve behavioral
observations of female choice in nature.
This project will take place
over a 2-month period at some point between mid-May to August, and
therefore applicants with flexible summer schedules are preferred.
I am
looking for a motivated and hard working individual with a strong work
ethic, preferably with a scientific background of some kind.
This
assistantship will require long days in the field, so applicants must be
in good physical condition.
To apply, please email a single document
with a cover letter, resume/CV, the dates you are available, personal
contact information, and contact information of 2 references to Meaghan
Gade at mgade16@jcu.edu.
