Needed for long-term monitoring study of
seabirds (primarily Atlantic Puffins, Razorbills, and Common and Arctic
Terns) on Machias Seal Island, New Brunswick. Dates: May 6 – ~August
31; one position may be extended through the fall, contingent on
funding. Salary: $5000 (CAD) for summer. Field housing, meals, and
transport from Fredericton, NB to field site and back provided. Primary
duties include bird capture (box trap, mist-net, treadle trap, hand),
banding and morphometric measurements, alphanumeric band resighting,
productivity monitoring, feeding observations, and data entry.

Desired
qualifications: Applicants should be positive, hard-working, and
enthusiastic, and able to reliably work independently as well as in a
team. Ability to meticulously collect and enter data is essential.
Previous field work preferred, particularly with seabirds, but not
necessary. Proficiency in resighting or fish ID a plus.
