Postdoctoral opportunities at Langebio-CINVESTAV, Irapuato, Guanajuato. Two postdoctoral positions are currently open in the Gillmor laboratory at Langebio. Both positions come with excellent salary and benefits, and are initially for one year, renewable for a second year. One position (in collaboration with Ruairidh Sawers, Penn State University, USA) will be focused on genetics, genomics and molecular biology of maize. Possible maize projects include 1) functional and molecular analysis of genes regulating phosphate homeostasis, and 2) genetics and genomics of maize diversity. This position is available beginning mid-February. A second position will focus on genetics and genomics of early embryogenesis in Arabidopsis thaliana. Projects for this position include regulation of zygotic genome activation, and pattern formation. This position is available beginning in mid-March. Applicants with experience in genetics, genomics, computational biology and microscopy are especially encouraged to apply. All laboratory activities are conducted in English.
