DIVISION OF OCEANOLOGY
RESEARCH POSITION
The Division of Oceanology of the Center for Scientific Research and Graduate Education at Ensenada (CICESE) invites applications for a tenure track position in integrative oceanography to bridge the research interests among our departments of Physical Oceanography, Biological Oceanography and Marine Ecology. The candidate will be expected to strengthen ongoing efforts to understand the links between environmental variability and the distribution and abundance of organisms in the California Current System and the Mexican Pacific by integrating the use of numerical modeling with existing and ongoing collection and development of biological and oceanographic data bases. The successful candidate will be expected to teach one graduate course a year in modeling of biological-physical interactions.
The candidate must have completed a PhD, preferably with postdoctoral experience, should be highly motivated, have published at least two first-author peer-reviewed papers in physical or biological oceanography and demonstrate competence in modeling and modern statistical methods.
The application should be accompanied by a cover letter with a proposal with research and teaching objectives, a CV, two letters of reference plus reprints of recent publications. A select number of candidates will be invited to present a seminar at CICESE and to discuss their interests and plans with researchers, students and academic administrators.
Application is open until the position is filled. Applications should be sent by e-mail or regular mail to:
